I must reach higher out of my own will. This poem is that entire thought captured.
Aspirational

By Nana Aforo

Sometimes I wish I could press restart on life and kick it

as a young one once more because my life feels sometimes

like a sore and can't heal with neosporin and the rain is pourin'.

Words are cheap and sometimes my loved ones feel stingy; I

wake up and my sight is dingy.

The lesson I need to remind myself of constantly is that

other peoples shit is other peoples shit and I can't afford to get

with it so just need to forget it and get with it which is in front

of me and learn to live in the moment. It's on me to be me be free

every day. And life is day by day and to deal I prefer the expediency

of creativity to the bureaucracy of idiocy. These metaphors just live

within me and the first step to reaching truth exists at the entrance of

one's soul.

I want to be higher than here and I won't use a spliff to get there. I'm

almost there, I can feel it believe I can see it in the distance floating

in mid-air. For the love of ART I will get there. Your future is up in the

air until you leap up and get it, get it? On my path from point A to point

Z the is E for ego the source of all evil. For the love of ART I will get

there. Life's not fair I don't care I will get there.

Aspirational musings that flow through my mind vibing with my music.

I'll take genre and boundary and throw an alligator, tiger and hell fire

at it and touch the world everywhere in every way everyday.

For the love love of ART I will get there. For the love of ART I am

still here because when you've felt alone in a crowded room you

want to dust and life the broom and be swept, away.

That's a hard thing to say but it's real and what I often used to feel

but for the love of ART I took pen and paper to heal. And so for the

love of ART I am here in technicolor motherfucker. I feel joy so I'll

press resume and move on and have my therapy on paper because

that's just my nature. And so it goes. To meditate inspire and reach higher.
