People on High

People on high above the mountain top that is higher than any other mountain range.
Will you not look down on those who are in need?
We are the poor, the hungry, the ones who are trying to keep going.
Will you not see with your own eyes how we are desperate?
It is a struggling fight to continue on forward like you are.
Can you not look down and see that we are hurting?
The scars are there, the blood pours out of us, and our bruises show.
Did you forget that we helped you get up on the mountain with our own sweat?
Greed has clouded your mind and has made you forget.
How many lives were lost for you to get there?
See them lying behind us without their burial of respect.
So what is our reward for helping you get up there?
Oh People on High!
Your reward is nothing?
We helped you to where you are at!
How are we to reap our benefits from this?
We can’t!
Are we to continue to suffer as you sit all high and mighty?
If you have chosen this for us then you shall have to suffer of coming down on your own.
Why? Why you ask?
You are giving us nothing so you will receive nothing in return.
Will you change your ways?
Oh People on High, you have given us better gifts.
Will we help you down now?
Yes, but keep your promise People on High or things will happen to you that’ll you’ll regret.
