Toes are stomped.
People’s tempers clearly swamped.
Who will help us fix this mess?
Who will help us convalesce?

Years of working - loyal – true; 
All for nothing – life askew.
Corporation’s ugly hand -
Hiding faces in the sand.

Open pockets full of wealth
Brutalize our country’s health.
Caustic disengaged old men
Plot - destroy our nation’s Zen.

Caring hands for one and all
Used to be our nation’s call -
Working hard and doing right
Used to take us t’ward the light!

Now we live with angst and fear -
Working all for not each year.
Building nothing for ourselves -
Knowing not where lives might delve.

Hence, our cities stand to lose;
Wearing out their worn out shoes.
Monies spent on other’s lust -
Stark! Unbridled! Never just.

Ageless greed and aging kin;
Useless goals – no way to win.
Up against a threadbare wall...
Who will be the next to fall?
