Sometimes I write a poem and think, how could I have never thought of this before? Enjoy! |
-Shape of The Heart- by Keaton Foster Shape of the heart Not quite round Not so oval Not a perfect circle Each one is quite unlike No two are the same God's masterpiece flawed Each one thumps along Singing a living song Each one pumps blood Thus giving us our life Some wear their hearts On their sleeves While so many others Bury them deep inside Some are quite damaged Limping along At a snail’s pace Some race at breakneck speeds Nearly jumping from our chest All, regardless of depth or shallowness Share equally in the fragile nature In which they manage to exist God knew what he was doing He understood what was needed Perfection was never the answer Vulnerability is what was required Such vulnerability separates us From all other living creatures Without it we would be unable To love each other as we do Without such vulnerability Our need for each other Would not be so required Our faith in each other And thus in God Would be a moot point Shape of the heart Not quite round Not so oval Not a perfect circle Each one is very much unalike No two are remotely the same God's masterpiece flawed I think not To me it seems that such a thing Was part of the plan all along… Shape of The Heart Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
