18+ A young girl is forced to set herself free and I was right there when she did |
-Gone Gone Away- by Keaton Foster In the grave A tender age Gone gone away A bullet to the brain A hell of a mess Was indeed made I was right there Sitting by her side I was the only one Who knew She made me promise Never to tell another soul Such a promise must be kept Clearly I understand What forced her hand What drove her to the end She was a desperate friend An impossibly forced Lover of skin She whispered goodbye Not a tear did she cry She was unafraid It was both beautiful And unimaginably terrifying She put the barrel to her temple And squeezed Bang! One hell of a shot She didn’t miss Gone gone away Is what I say when others ask They always want to know Her most final of words What she said They always want to know Why To both I have an established reply One that does not break any promise One that I can live with And she of course Can remain at peace with I tell all of them that she Was a troubled friend indeed And that unlike most Life just became no longer a choice Her hand was forced By circumstances met head on She knew what she needed to do And not me Not any of you Could have changed her mind Death was always in the cards Some live life to be free And other don’t For the exact same reason Gone gone away A bullet to the brain A mess was indeed made Of course it’s a shame But she is free of her pain Free of what others have done She was way too young But under the same sun She suffered much She is free At ease Death was her choice I can and will always Respect that… Gone Gone Away Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
