If you've got a mother, have you hugged her today?

A Mother's Song Not so very long ago, my mother was here. I could tell her my problems, and she’d dry all my tears. We shared all the bad times, and cherished the good. I'd love to hug you mama if only I could. If you've got a mother, have you hugged her today? Did you hold her in your arms? Did you recall to say: Mama, I love you; No, I won’t forget to pray If you've got a mother, have you hugged her today? Often my memories carry me back to a child; Sitting on that old, church bench, that was our family style. I can still see the preachers giving praise unto the Lord. And I'll never forget my mother's prayers when her knees touched the floor. She would never ask for silver. She would never plead for gold. She would just cry, If it be thy will, let me see my children grown. It's been many years now, all us kids are on our own; And I guess the Lord thought it was time to call my mother home. She’s up in heaven, singing around that golden thorne. I know she's happy with you God, but I feel so alone. Today I saw a mother with her children hand in hand. I couldn't help but wonder, I pray they understand, Someday that loving circle will be broken by the light. Lord I hope those children hug their mother tonight.
