Christmas poem
'Twas the night before Christmas and all over town.
Last minute shoppers were wearing a frown,
Trying to make sure no one is missed,
In hopes they can finally fill out their list.

The Merchants are happy, this panic to see,
They chortle with joy; clap hands with glee.
Soon to the banks they will all wend their way,
With all of the money  collected this day.

The banks will be joyful; to have a windfall.
In interest, the shoppers will pay to them all,
On money they borrowed to help them defray
The cost of the crap they'll buy on this day!

The shoppers will spend without care or thought
And hope that their friends will like what they bought.
Midst all this turmoil the meaning gets lost
Of the birth of the child, his death, and the  cost.

Jesus was born; a message to bring
Of peace and goodwill from our GOD, the King!
We celebrate Christmas, or at least we should,
To honor the child, the message, the good.

Not just to grasp with hearts full of greed
But rather to show Him that some of us heed
The message He brought us. The Love and the Joy,
Found in a manger; in one little boy!
