The Pain is Only Starting

Erin and Evaleine shopped for good cloths that could cover her tail and ears. After all, the black and silver things were very noticeable. Erin helped Evaleine pick out good cloths and they moved on from store to store. Evaleine presented her outfit to Erin when they could hear the yells of commands and the stomps of trotting soldiers.

Erin wasn't letting any harm come to Evaleine. Not then, not ever. He grabbed her right and dived into a dressing room. Her hood had fallen off and they listened for the soldiers to come near by. Evaleine was shaking on fear of her death or the torture of experiments. Evaleine sensed the men coming as she listened with her large ears. She began to cry slightly then a man looked into their dressing stall. He aimed for her chest and pulled the trigger.

Erin pulled Evaleine away from the bullet but it still hit her. Another shot was fired and hit the far right of her chest. She could feel the blood drain from her. Erin tacked through the men and ran out the maze of buildings carefully in the shopping center. He ran to the car and drove off fast. He pulled up in front of an old sage green two story house. A tall boy with dark brown hair and blue eyes came out. Erin carried her in fast. Evaleine felt as if she was going to pass out but stayed strong. Erin set her down. She soon did pass out. The two young men cleaned her wounds and wrapped them. When she woke up both were by her side. "This is Jak." Erin introduced his "friend".

She felt like she was going to faint but carried on and swung her feet off the bed onto the ground. She climbed off the bed and set her shaky feet onto the ground. She stumbled a bit but Erin stopped her from carrying on. He set her back down on the bed and carefully made her lay down. "Rest" he whispered in her ear. With that, Erin exited the room. "How do you know Erin?" Evaleine asked. Jak was staring at her but he still responded. "Uh. Um. School" he said. Evaleine smiled. "That's nice" she said. Something was odd about Jak. Jak smiled back.
