A sequel...and answer to I Wonder Why (She Cries At Night). |
(I Now Know Why) She Cries By Jordan Anna Breathtakingly slow, agonizing cold She moves across the room to the bed I watch her softly caress the wrinkles The day has shed I overheard her whispers when she’s talking To the moon And the cries of misery and heartbreak Mourning, morning comes so soon To start the day fresh, alone in such isolation Empty, forgotten being The loss of a friendship so close and dear Living the life unseeing Alive her friend and yet so dead The scorning, the slander so real So fresh in her mind and the heart longs For the friendship that could have been A bond so tight, so lovingly dear Shredded without warning Leaving an empty shell of hope That no one will ever hear The friendship ripped by cruelty Words thrown without care Her emotions played out in a heartless game Leaving her cold and in despair I now know why she cries at night She’s lonely, afraid to befriend For fear of her heart being wrenched And mutilated all over again She whispers all her sorrows To the moon each night in vain Asking her friend to take those words So her heart may find friendship again Might I take away her pain? |
