A sad poem about mice.
You bought us all and spoilt us,

Rotten,

Spoilt us and spoilt us,

Or else

How else

Did we find our way here, we must

Have just , wondered in- -full trust

You ran around, and played with us.

You spoilt us, you spoilt us, lumps of cheese

And plenty dust to mark our tracks

That bring us back, into your warmth

And all my family comes and swarms

Around your shrine, to worship you

Your air divine – too much to take, and in your presence we do quake

Your steps sublime, we sniff your feet and take our time

To understand our masters scent

You’ve no idea the hours spent

On running around frantically,

Headless chickens, counting geese

Making sure your majesty,

Has all the necessary needs,

Satisfied down to a t

We’re out of sight, we’re out of sight

Getting ready to take flight

To make sure you don’t catch a fright

From seeing us, disgusting mice.

We sicken you. we sicken you.

We are not worthy, this is true.

We’re vermin in your living room,

Hiding there, awaiting doom.

But still we love you, blindly so.

And in our numbers we do grow,

A multitude of woeful fools.

Why don’t we see, we’re just your tools.

You left us food , and set the mood.

We ran and danced, our vermin brood.

How kind of you to give us this,

A gift of ignorance is bliss.

We ate and ate, in complete darkness

But food was meagre, numbers steeper

We start to turn on one another

Mother father son and brother

I take a bite into your shoulder

The mood began to turn much colder

Fire in our blood and eyes

And as we feast, our own flesh dies

They’re poisoning us, they’re poisoning us!

Conquering and destroying us!

We fail to notice, only lust

For the bloody taste of rust!

They’re blinding us, they’re blinding us!

With distractions that were tying us

To them, we depend on them

I watch my brethren fall and then

The realisation starts to dawn

I seemed to know this all along,

Snap out of it, snap out of it!

Let the rest of us rush out of it!

Let’s join our forces and resist

Before we cease to now exist!

I cry my tears belatedly,

My peers have are now berating me, they push me roughly to the floor

And make their way fast to the door

It slams shut quickly... Blood, and more.
