-Sweet Little Words- by Keaton Foster Sweet little Words Poetic duplicities Spoken just once Regurgitated often Form and function Always changing the ways In which what we say What is to be written out One man’s lion In another man’s lamb One man’s heart Is another man’s darkness We can all agree That in such words We can either find Or lose what we need Absurdities rule Universal truths Bleed on through Each one spelled out Clarity for understandings sake You there Me here Both quite queer We should’ve known Because we are as one Under every sun We are the same Victims of this game Tortured beings Believing that WE Can make a difference Shouldn’t we understand But certainly we don’t Our minds, weak Our one power To willingly believe Is more than just words Strong is the heart Of those who dare refuse And those who find A honest way to accept Nonsensical nonsense Parenthetical pretext Always stepping in High holy horseshit I’d clean your boots With my tongue If I didn’t find Such a thing So unquestionably disgusting Then again Sweet little words Please give more Not something said But rather lived Desperate is the need Wicked is every dream A naked page never seen Upon punishment of death I will of course be doing this What will you be doing That is the only question Many find worth asking I of course know others Rhetorical resurgence I could of course care But like most I figure What’s the damn point I’m just a crazy mutha-fucker Doing something Least crazy of all Now to you and I That should make sense… Sweet Little Words Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
