Sestina Poem
When the snow melts and the leaves turn green, spring.
A quite village the people in March
The calmness breaks with shouts and screams
A mob had gathered to hunt a retched criminal
We must stop his madness, he must fall
I am the one chosen to lead

The clues we found gave us a lead
On a clear sunny day in spring
The crimes that began during the fall
Now we gather our torches and march
Retribution is coming for this criminal
In anger for justice they scream

Once he saw the mob, he let out a scream
We followed the trail that gave us a lead
To a church, the only safe place for a criminal
Through the crisp fresh air of spring
Up to the church we marched
To bring the villain down

Up in the bell tower trying not to fall
“Redeem Me!” is what he screams
We will have a hanging on the first day of March
The sun fades the sky and dark clouds lead
It begins to rain the showers of spring
I sneak inside to capture the criminal

He begs for mercy, that coward criminal
I climb the bell tower trying not to stumble
My favorite time of year, spring
From the stairway, I can hear his screams
I can redeem you, just follow my lead
Make haste to the bell tower I march

Up to the bell tower I march
I look inside and see the criminal
Standing by the edge of the lead
The crowd echoes the church with their screams
Hoping to his death he would fall
The first day of spring

I march up and kick the criminal
He falls down; with fury and rage I lead him to the edge.
I look him in the eye and scream, SPRING!
