A shape poem - Christmas tree
*Star*

A
star
above
glittering
tinsel bows &
baubles with thin
red cotton threads.
Presents gleam bright,
waiting for the church bells
to chime; for the children to run
and jump with absolute joy and glee.
The family cake is one to celebrate.
Central to festive fun.
Gather
around
the Christmas tree

This was written for the Writer's Cramp - 20th December 2013
16 lines using the following words as prompts: celebrate, cotton, Christmas, cake, church

Note: This is a non-rhyming shape poem. A shape poem is a type of poetry that describes an object and is shaped the same as the object the poem is describing. In this case, a Christmas tree.
