A poem about putting on Christ and what a Christian faces.
When your mind is cluttered and negative thoughts repeat;
Don’t be discouraged, don’t suffer defeat.
Be it things from the past or a distortion of truth,
Scripture that’s twisted; Satan’s the root.
This stronghold he’s building, it’s not done in a day.
He has studied and watched you, each step of the way.
You question you’re righteous, for he whispers “you’re not;”
He brings up your past and he says you have spots.
Spots that are stains from sin long ago;
You doubt you’re forgiven, since he says they still show.
He destroys and he lies; he’s a master deceiver.
You’re not what he says, but a blood washed believer!

Your mind is the battlefield; your weapons are mighty!
Your confession of faith in Christ grace, don’t take lightly.
The work that was finished that day long ago;
Has power to keep you but still you should know.
The devil will always be near, but don’t dread;
His time is real short, he knows what’s ahead.
The Armour you’re given for the battle you face,
is given of God and full of his grace.
Girted with Truth, and Faith as your shield;
His Word is a sword, in his strength you’ll wield.
With the helmet of Salvation and the gospel of Peace,
and the breastplate of Righteousness; there’s no need for retreat.

The Armour you wear, it is Christ the Lord;
He is Truth and Salvation and The Word that’s the sword.
He is Faith and Righteousnsess, and Peace beyond compare.
Now able to stand, in unceasing prayer.
And when I say STAND, I mean hold your ground.
No forces are greater than The Armour you’ve found.
