The beats of drums unceasing,
Bodies move in frenzy dancing
Coal and wood burning in an unquenchable light
And teethes shining in the glorious night
Faces and body adorned with designs
Irresistible, unlike the brine

The black skin glistening with sweat
Though the heat of the season
Oblivious of the surrounding Mother Nature
Exhibitions of paintings and carvings
Africa!! With all its up’s and downs
Africa! The night even shouts her name
Africa!! Dwelling of the never fading dark skins
There is nothing compared to thee
Dancing, we all clap our hand in joy
Singing, we raise our voices to the night
Of our cultural love for ourselves
And for the beauty of the continent
As we commemorate our past lives

Amidst the joy of celebrating our history
A war song is being chanted
A warrior shouts out the chant
This war is not about fighting ourselves
This war is about fighting still for our cultural heritage
A struggle to survive, even as we are been looked down on
Though they feel complacent about our situation
But we know, we shall continue to struggle
Rise up Africa!
Extol your cultural heritage
There is no time to be coy
It is time to show courage, determination
Because, we shall triumph
Even in the throes of civilization
Our cultural heritage shall still be maintained
We shall never back down
Because there is no retreat and no surrender
