Daily Flash Challenge: “Not before I’ve had my Coffee”

Jeff pulled his BMW into his usual parking spot in large garage.  The drive was uneventful, surprising that Monday morning commutes are generally a bear.  The clock flashed 7:40 am, and he was early.  “Maybe this is a good sign,” Jeff thought as he opened the car door to get out.  Placing his left foot out the door and onto the ground, he felt something weird beneath his shoe.  Gum, and it was hot and elastic stuck to the bottom of his Split Toe Johnson and Murphy’s.  “I spoke to soon,” muttered Jeff under his breath.

With his suit coat on and brief case in hand, Jeff walked from his car into the building.  He was just passing the drive between the garage and building when the Fed Ex driver ran into Jeff’s leg with a cart full of packages.  “Hey, watch it!  Ouch,” Jeff shouted at the driver.

“I’m so sorry sir, I didn’t see you there.  Are you OK?”  The driver shot back in complete astonishment.

“I’m fine,” Jeff said waiving his hand back to the driver.  He looks down at his pant leg and sees the smug of black grease on the leg of his grey slacks.  “Damn it, this is a new suit!”  Jeff shouted in anger.

Jeff makes it to the elevator and is feeling lucky again since he has it to himself.  As the door closes he sees a hand reach in just in time.  Standing in front of him is Becky.

“Jeff, I’m so glad I caught you.  Have you looked at my proposal?  I really think its what we need to do.”  Becky rambled as the elevator climbed.

The door opened and Jeff ran into Bill.  “Jeff have you looked over the plans I sent you this morning?”  Bill proclaimed as Jeff was walking by with Becky in tow.

Turned the corner for his office and runs into Allison.  “Jeff I need your approval on that project so we could move forward.”  Allison proclaimed to Jeff as he was hurrying by.

“Enough!  I haven’t even made it into my office yet.  And there is no way, not before my coffee, I am going to be deciding on anything!”  Jeff screamed out in frustration.  “And happy Monday.”
