Creepily
Do you dare
Following me
Following truth
I alone set the route
The journey
Is our shared affliction
Such introspective fools
On different sides
Of faith and light
On day and night
Everywhere that I go
Everything that I do
You are my solemn witness
My darkest secrets to be kept
Be assured that I know
That I truly understand
Silence does not mean
That you will forget
Judging me all the while
Harshly judging yourself
Has become paramount
Shadow in the background
My conscientious objector
You will take no part
Through are your hands
Empty is your soul
Such quantifications
Are part you and myself
We are divided in two
But we are the same truth
You have somehow come to care
Far more than I ever could
You have come to believe
Something that I cannot
You want so badly to escape
But every brilliant dawn
Of every newly woven day
You are there
Just out of my line of sight
Behind the choices that I make
And then willingly carry out
Like it or not you are complicit
Like it or not you are part of me
Of course you can act unaware
Under the brightest sun
But that won’t change anything
Broken and distorted
You have no real chance
Shadow in the background
I will never bring you forward
I will never let you get ahead
I will never allow you to escape
In furious day or total darkness
You are where you belong
You must suffer all that I’ve done
And all that I continue to do
We are indeed as one
In this unified conundrum
That is our shared existence
