..........
Sometimes I look around and I can't handle it.
The stress from school, the pressure from my parents,
And through it all, I see the faults.

The faults in my parents logic,
The mistakes others make,
I see it all,
And no one listens.

Parents and teachers drill in my mind not to drink,
Yet too many children grow up watching people they love doing exactly that.
Often the ones who can make a difference,
are the ones too quiet for someone to hear.

In school I was taught to be thankful for what I have.
I understand we need to help everyone,
But many of us are too miserable to understand how someone could have it worse.
People shouldn't be thinking this,
No one should suffer so much they think they have it the worst around

Growing up I was taught to not bully,
That you don't know what someone's going through.
Yet too many people are harmed by others to take this seriously.
They think one person isn't going to make a difference, but if everyone thought this way,
Will there even be a difference to be made?

In church I was taught to pray to God when I have issues.
Most of us used to pray too much without an answer,
I've been broken too many times
and had my hopes up too many times to try again.

Throughout all of this, we keep living.
We keep doing what society tells us to do,
Because we are too young, and don't understand.
Yet, we've seen the faults,
We know how and what to change.
The only real thing standing in our way,
Is ourselves.
