PDG Poetic Pen Contest poem - Responsibility has hidden my dreams. Can I reawaken them? |
To work, these hours press down on me. They call to arms and force it out The hopes and dreams that once lived free Are now so filled with rabid doubt. I hang my head in shame, in fears Could this be all I have to give Could this be all, I say through tears My voice so weak; I want to live. My wails rise up and shatter glass I hide my face, let the pieces fly Where are my days of wild and sass? I push the tears aside and try.
