“Oh my goodness Beth! Look at you. You are stunning!”

“Thank you mom. Can you help me with the back buttons?”

“Of course I can.”

“Mom why are you crying? I am not going far. I am still your daughter. You have just gained a son.”

“I know darling, but never did I imagine this day would come so fast. You are a beautiful woman and getting married. Today!”

“Yes, I know. I am so nervous. I know this day has been planned for over a year now. Here it is and I am a bundle of nerves.”

“Of course your nerves are going to be bad. You want a perfect day, and you will have it. Everyone you love is here. Your father would have been so proud to see this day.”

“I see now why you are crying. You miss daddy. I do too mom. I am so glad you gave me his wedding ring for Nathan to wear. It is truly an honour.”

“Well you father would have liked Nathan. If you brothers are okay with him then he has met the standards of your father as well.”

“Do you think dad can see me today? I mean, do you believe in that stuff mom?”

“Yes I do believe it because I feel him. If you look hard enough dear you will find him with you today as well.”

“I will look for him. I guess the time is getting closer. Time for the veil.”

“Listen honey, your father and I have put money aside for this day. I want you to know that your dad worked so hard for everything you have ever had.”

“Mom, I know this, and I also know you have worked just as hard. You are going to make me cry, and my makeup will be a mess.”

“These moments slip by very quickly Beth so savour your time with Nathan. You think time would stand still for such happiness, but life is a blink of an eye really. If you don't pay attention to it, this day will be gone forever. Never take your love for granted.”

“Oh mom I could never stop loving Nathan. He is my partner in life and my best friend.”

“As long as you carry those feelings throughout your marriage you can get through the most dreadful times.”

“I know mom. I have watched you and dad go through some trying times and you were both so in love I had no doubt that you two would ever fall out of love.”
“Well this is your day darling. Lets focus on such a wonderful occasion. Here are your flowers and your something blue.”

“Are you serious? Mom you can't give this to me. Dad bought you this on your first wedding anniversary.”

“Yes he did. I also know he would want you to have it. Now for sure you will know your father is with you today.”

“Oh my. It is more beautiful than I ever remembered. The blue sapphire still shines like the day you got it. Mom you don't know how much this necklace means to me. It holds a lot of memories for you I am sure. I will treasure it forever.”

“Here now, let me put it on and wipe your tears. You might want to fix your mascara. Sorry honey I didn't mean to make you cry.”

“Mom I am so glad we had this little talk. I will hold everything you said close to my heart.”

“Okay then, lets go, shall we?”

“Mom, I think I felt dad. Something brushed my cheek, like a whisper of wind.”
