An insane poem about the loads we must carry during our lifetimes. Cheers

-Cords of Our Vices-

Dragging around
Not a sound
Destructible apparatuses
Cords of our vices
Such tension
Will lead to a snap
A break from reality
And the duality
Of being a human
Just one of several billion
Many more than intended
The weight we apply
Forced down from the sky
Dropped from great height
We look up
Unable to catch
We see it before impact
We doubt what it shows us
And the crash further adds
To such immense doubt
It rattles out logical cortex
Shaking our vulnerable presets
We ask why me
And thus
More will be added to our load
More to be dragged behind
Lessening the load
Is not part of any modus operandi
Cords of our vices
Are not rope nor thread
Not wire nor cable
But rather part of our
Neurological pathways
Nerves, tendons, blood vessels
All acting as one connection
Pulling the weight
That we must carry
Will they snap as one
Or break in increments
So small that they’ll go unnoticed
Until it’s far beyond to late
We will suffer more than we should
Or not enough
Depends on perspective and result
Will the load we leave behind remain
If so
Who will attach it to their own
And carry it further then we
Could have ever hoped
Cords of our vices
The devil is always in the details
The darkness always hides
What we don’t wanna perceive
But viewing the world
With closed eyes does nothing
To prevent us from seeing
Knowing and understanding
Our own version of absolute truth
All of us
From the first of two
To the last of billions
Have been created to live
And thus egregiously sin
Such sins are our load to bare
Our weight to carry
The sum of what we’ve done
While we were here
And after we are gone
Death may separate us from them
But they always will remain
Just as our creator intended
Madness is seems was not suspended
But rather embraced as an evolutionary
Side-effect of our intelligent design
Cord of our vices
Ropes of sorts
Tied to our damnation…
