A Children's Picture Book |
(This story was inspired by my dog, a XXL great dane. Each space symbolizes a new page.) This is Echo Rose. Echo loves being outside! In the Spring, Echo sniffs the beautiful flowers. In the Summer, Echo runs through the woods exploring new things. In the Fall, Echo plays in the colorful leaves. But, in the Winter, Echo stays inside. Because in the Winter it is much too cold to be outside. Echo's short black hair is just now warm enough, and she gets too cold. So Echo sits inside and watches the other dogs play. Echo's friend, Elsa, saw she was sad and offered Echo her polka dog coat. Echo tried on Elsa's coat, but it didn't fit! Echo went to the pet store to look for a coat big enough for her. She tried on a blue coat, but it was too short. She tried on a pink coat, but it was too tight. Last, she tried on a red coat, but it was too long. None of the coats fit, and Echo was sad. Echo went home and watched all the dogs play outside. She sat, and she sat, and then she had a thought! "I can make a coat of my own!" she said. "One made just for me!" Echo found the most beautiful fabric she had ever seen and worked all night long. She measured, and she cut, then she sewed it all together! Then, the next day as the dogs came out to play, Echo put on her glamorous new coat. "Look!" the dogs howled. "What a beautiful coat!" Echo skated on the ice and ran through the snow, but she never got cold! "I love your new coat!" Elsa exclaimed with excitement. "Where can I buy one?" she asked "I made it" Echo said proudly.
