A weird poem that came to me after meeting a man with no home and lots of issues. |
-Refugee- by Keaton Foster Lost No home Just skin Covered bones Where to go Where I’ve been Another time Unconcerned friends This madness This poetic nonsense Is not about me None ever written Only those lived This verse Is about you There For once Real is the truth For once Everything absolute There are no lies Not one to be had There are only facts Splayed wide open Slaved to the concept Enslaved by the masses Looking for a home Each vacancy sign Flashes none Aimlessly walking about Pointing at others Screaming salvation Oh thy God please Down upon your knees Praying to the master Damming him with words Kept under your tongue He knows point blank He understands your ways Much more than you think Justified He won’t relent Homeless While living in his abode A shell Less a spine Down upon yourself Someday you will fall What a mess What an accident you are How could I know What could it be What makes me better Or the occasional Appearance of Not any damn thing Not any that I’ll admit Or beat you over the head with Read just one line Find the missing time And you’ll understand The precipice of my plan Come here to the edge And I'll shove you over And watch as you fall Down into forever’s abyss Down into the swirling bliss I’ll continue to speak Upon your behalf I won’t let the lack of you Drive me from any path Refugee There are plenty So damn many Lost No home Just skin Covered bones No one cares for you No one except for me Do you now see There lies the reason I have come to be a slave To every word and page I won’t ever give up Even if you somehow do I won’t make excuses Even if that is All that you understand Don’t be mad I feel your pain Your lack of a home Your lack of a place To be remotely safe I was once there In that same place In that same twisted shape That you now find truth Refugee An expatriate The one lost to the world The one lost to themselves Find your way closer And I’ll help you Find your way further To a place that requires No roof over your head… Refugee Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
