Time keeps on ticking

Time keeps on ticking

I remember

I stared at the clock

in fear of it getting me

because it does

in the end



Time won't stop for me

this I understand,

so the news was to be expected

yet I'm still wanting someone to laugh

as if it were a joke,



But no one laughs

my family all just sit and stare

at me.

I am their jack in the box

which has been wound up



They're still waiting for the reaction.

The fear, sorrow, disbelief

and then my time will run out

as it will

and I'll be in a different box.



But as for now

I'll just sit

and stare

at the clock.
