Lord – I’m tired, I’m sick, I’m all alone.
I long to see your face.
Only you can soften my heart, heavy as a stone.
I feel so unworthy, how can I win this race?
All I see are shadows in the dark.
I so want to walk in the light.
I’m in a forest – oh so stark,
will I ever walk where it’s bright?
I read your Holy Word and pray.
But Lord, it’s not enough this day.
I sing and praise and say amen,
longing to see Your face again.
My precious child, I heard him say,
My face you can not see.
For I am holy, clean and pure.
The things you’ll never be.
But in those times when you feel alone
and satin is on the attack.
If you’ll bow your head I’ll then pass by
And you can see My back. (Ex. 33: 17-21)
You’re not alone, my Word is ever true.
I gave to you a part of Me.
A part most holy and most pure.
So, Dear One, when all you see is black,
I’m in your heart and in your soul.
No longer must you see My back. (Heb.10: 19-24)
