A twisted and dark poem about creatures sent to kill those driven to them by God. |
-The Lion Of Darkness- by Keaton Foster Silent Is the song That Plays along Death It won’t Be long Predators Seek prey Carrion For the feast Catching it With ease All beast Complete God’s gift To themselves Humans Not so much Mistakes Happenstance Upon its head Two All that was planned Now A thinning of the heard Justice he demands How exactly Via his Hands off approach Some freewill Other insincerities Disguised As atrocities He won’t help He won’t step in He’ll just watch Let it happen Because there The lion Of darkness Is stalking His latest prey Another victim Of his need His desire To feast A man A fallible Human indeed In a place That he Does not belong Truly the beast Hidden Is at home Right where He belongs Most of all Killing is easy Once All fear is removed Murdering Becomes mundane When it is because Of an internal need A desire to be fed And An unwillingness To starve to death The lion Of darkness Will be quick Efficient at ends He knows what’s next He understands The heck The man The one about to die Knows nothing Of the end He lives his life Always expecting There will be more But not on this night He made a mistake He took Or stumbled upon The wrong path One that has led him Here Within the grip of doom It will all be swift Instant No resistance The snap of his neck The break of his spine Separating The pain From an ability To feel it He will be alive Then instantly He’ll be dead The lion Of darkness Will feast For hours Overstuffed Will become his gut He’ll consume Until eating Another ounce Would mean death Only then After some Deserving rest Will he move along Deeper into The unfurling nothing From where Creatures like him come He’ll come back this way When the hunger Again forces him The world is full Of killers And those to be killed As always As planned by God above The difference comes In the fact That those to be killed At present Point and time Have no idea That they are To be next… The Lion Of Darkness Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
