What experiencing it feels like, and some bonus prompts to help overcome it.
Right now I am suffering from horrible writers block.
Not the kind where you can't think about any prompts, the type where nothing seems right to you.
Like I could write about so many things.
An epic adventure where a possom finds himself on mars...
A crazy story about a fictional character named Marvin who tries to stay awake through health class
I could write about almost anything, but nothing seems right and everything seems wrong, even the coolest thing seems like all it would create is a piece of garbage. Nothing works.
So I wrote about the rock in my shoe. (For less figurative people that means I'm writing about writer's block.)
It feels like the Hudson dam has switched places and implanted itself inside of your brain. And stuck itself right between the idea place and the nerve place. (I'm not a science guy.) And nothing can get through it, even if you had found a cure for cancer it would be stuck in there, and then it would leak out your ear and be lost forever.
which would really suck.
Or a judge has stuck itself in your brain and is deciding that every piece of thought is guilty of being stupid and it all goes to thought jail, where the useless and vulgar thoughts go to die. Even if it was a thought that would have wrote the next #1 bestseller.
which would also really suck
So in conclusion, writer's block sucks, there is a solution though. When something goes into your mind, just write it, don't pause to think, because it could be the next bestseller.
That's what I just did, minus the bestseller.
