A contest entry for Kasia's "Whispers of the Soul" Poetry Contest
The Wrath of the Sea

Look, there's a little spirit,

Wandering across my waters.

She rocks back and forth,

Not too fast, and not too slow.

She carries lively creatures,

Who live not in my waters,

But on the Dry World,

Where my waters must end.

Some little spirits carry men of good,

Who explore my beauty,

And delight in my graceful movements.

Others carry men of harm,

Who trash me and kill my people,

Who leave me no choice but to bring upon a storm.

The people of the little spirit now throw down their anchors,

As all fishermen, biologists, and explorers do.

But these are men of evil,

And for that they must pay.

I blow up a storm, heading their way.

The little spirit is tossed to and fro,

No longer rocking silently as before.

After a long storm, I begin to settle down,

Because I also care about these little spirits,

And only want them to learn.

They go back to the shore,

To where they belong.

I hope they learn, I hope its not too long.
