Driving home tonight in the city. Nov 14, 2014
The Long Goodbye

Looking out at the lights of the city
Driving home all alone in the dark
I can't help but feel it's such a pity
I'll go again without leaving a mark

As I drive though the streets again
I wonder just when I will finally say
The time as come to make a plan
There is no reason for me to stay

Sometimes I wonder why I believe
That this is just a long goodbye

Sometimes I wonder if I will leave
When I'm done this long goodbye

The lights seem to go on forever
So many trying to win the race
I wonder once again if I will ever
Find a smile for this lonely face

The radio softly plays an old song
Not caring how alone I might be
But it's been this way for so long
The sad songs are all about me

Sometimes I wonder why I believe
That this is just a long goodbye

Sometimes I wonder if I will leave
When I'm done this long goodbye
