Wasteland of My Dreams

A soul-splitting scream issues forth into the abyss,
Along the desolate landscapes of the mind.

Hopeless whimpers of the psyche
Echo the fetal weaknesses of the spirit.

And all the while, the molten lava of "Rage"
breathes deeply.
It feeds on the remnants of shattered dreams
and empty tomorrows.

The beast within craves Redemption.
"Justice" is emblazoned on the banners
that wave from the ramparts of a distant time
and place.

Broken connections and missed opportunities
fuel a river of tears known as "Regret."

Wandering aimlessly through this foreign land
filled with ambushes still waiting to be sprung on
the unsuspecting traveler.

Welcome to the Wasteland of My Dreams.

All may enter
but few leave unscathed.
