There was a family once in the State,
who came together so they could relate.
They weren’t related by blood--not at all!
Yet they assembled to answer the call.
They were of ages eighty to nineteen;
housewife mechanic accountant and dean.
They were of all varied colors and size;
yet there was one thing they all did despise.
Deep understanding and tolerance too;
Christian agnostic Islamic and Jew.
Pointing the finger discouraged all right;
also discouraged was judgment and spite.
Family unified by simple creed;
brothers and sisters agreeing indeed.
Warmth of the heart like the sunlight above;
feeling the call of the virtue that’s love.
