Shadow

A friend that follows me everywhere,

Except for into the dark.

Once night comes my friend disappears

And I despair until the morn.



The sun and light bring him out to play

The night and clouds do take him away.

My friend my playmate, confident and show,

A reflection of myself but oh where it does go.



The mirror reflects my face,

My shadow reflects my soul,

When night time comes again,

There does go my soul.
