This is a poem about a fountain that I used to wish upon for Shadow and Light |

The Fountain By Lisa Noe The fountain is beautiful Water spurting toward heaven high The floral trees surround it And when they lose their leaves They gracefully tumble into the water. I see the coins that someone wished upon They pinned their dreams on wishes, They hope they will come true. It has stood for many years Seen many a dime dropped in. The children encircle the fountain in the spring Hiding eggs around it and playing hide-n-seek. The wishes are like diamonds They are cherished by the dreamer, Who believes they can come true. My last dime goes to the fountain As I wish for happiness with you. I guess I’m just a dreamer Wishing in the well, The fountain stands forever like a beacon us all. Words:128 Lines: 27 |
