The Prayer

On your darkest of nights.

When tears are your only companion.

The demons of solitude want to haunt you forever.

They chase away all love and happiness.

You feel your heart dying.

It's screams echo throughout your lonely soul.

It wants to stop beating.

It has tired of breaking.

It needs to be loved.

It has lost all hope.

You look for a sign.

A light to lead the way through the darkness.

To chase away the demons.

To silence the screams.

God will hear you.

You kneel in the darkness.

Hands folded.

Looking towards Heaven.

You begin to pray.

“Please Lord.”

“Help me in my time of need.”

“Help me find love.”

“Help me find the rock I can hold onto.”

“To help support me.”

“To be the foundation my life.”

“To always be there no matter what storms life may bring.”

“Help me find the place where my heart belongs.”

“Where it will be safe.”

“Where it will be loved.”

“Where it will come to life and beat again.”

“Help me find the one with whom I can share my dreams.”

“Can silence the demons.”

“Wipe away my tears.”

“And bring the light back into my life with his love.”

“I need an angel.”

“I pray you will send one.”

“Before the darkness consumes me.”

“Before the demons chase all hope away.”

“Before my heart dies forever.”

You know God has heard you.

That he will answer you prayer.

He will send you an angel.

You wait.

Then the day comes.

You see him.

You see your angel.

He walks towards you.

You feel the light of his love.

The darkness is gone.

The demons are vanquished.

Your heart comes to life.

He takes you in his arms.

He holds you tightly.

His whispers speak to your heart, mind, body and soul.

Your heart skips a beat.

Your mind is at peace.

Your body tingles.

Your soul sings like the angels in Heaven.
