A boy's drastic maths test

"Oh maths book where are you? Where are you? Oh! where are you? 

Are you in the cupboard, under the table or under my stinky shoe?

So full of problems to be solved, I wonder how confused are you

I learned addition in grade one and multiplication in the grade two."



I got the book in the old rag. I  took a deep closer look for a while.

I opened it up, turned the pages and then thought with a little smile

" Is it the same book or any other?", this I debated for a while

I thought of training a day before, a one day crossing of the Nile.



I sat down with the book, on my study table, with a pen in one hand.

How long the course appeared to me as if a boundary less vast land

My mind was boggling in another world; the world of sea and sand

But then I had to solve the maths book and not to listen to a Band.



Well the night just passed away; with not much progress in the way

My classmates had navigated oceans while I was still at the coast of bay 

The number of problems I had solved were not going to make a big say

The examination morning; a deadly, scary and frightening fiery day



"Well the examination paper is of unknown sort", I said when I had seen

The questions I solved at night, some other they were; they might have been

Then I came to home and looked for the book which I had last night seen

Oh gosh! Oh God! What a deadly terrible error by my eyes it had been!



On looking on the book I found my younger brother's name on its page

What more I could do now I was just filled with excess of red hot rage



What can you guess my result was like? It seemed I was a poor page.

The truth is this that I had failed. A mistake I would remember for my age.
