Broken
Bottomless
Living
Downtroddeness
Fighting
Screaming
No longer
Believing
From many
You are stealing
Taking their hope
Betraying
What they themselves
Certainly know
You’ve brought them
Here
So very near
You force them
To take a peek
Into the madness
Of your swirling sea
Blackness
Emptiness
A suffocating profoundness
They are changed
How could they not be
Mortified and modified
They begin to believe
What they see
And so
It becomes real
It becomes honest
Tragic
Bitterly saddening
And before long
They are like you
Damaged
Unrepairable
Left quite tragic
Mortified and modified
They themselves
Then spread
The lies you told
The absolutes shown
They lead others
To the same conclusion
They see it
Not as an illusion
They see it as fact
A symbiotic intrusion
Into their perfect lives
Which quickly become
Vastly flawed conclusions
They no longer try
Why would they
How could they
They see the same
Obliterated darkness
As all others who’ve come
And stood at the precipice
And peered into madness
Leaving them feeling
An unrequited sadness
It fills theirs hearts
Burdens their souls
Their once vibrant faith
Becomes muddled
Troubled
Mortified and modified
No longer do they know
Or understand what to do
Their judgement is lost
They make more mistakes
Than not…
