Welcome and love in the midst of death. A true recount of my father's death. |
We heard the words that you were ill. Waves of fear were felt by all. “How could this be? We can’t lose you now.” These were the thoughts of all. You bravely faced the battle at hand Like a warrior in the front line. You accepted that your time on earth Was soon to be past-time. With focus in your eyes and heart You reached towards the Father’s arms. He brought to you a committee Of those who went before. They greeted you and turned towards The heavenly gates above To show you the way In which to meet our glorious Father Waiting for you with arms full of love. You placed your hand in His And began to walk along For one moment you stopped and looked back For you knew this was a journey You would take alone. We could not go with you Though if we had the choice we would. For in that moment, it panged your soul To think of the grief and hurt here on earth. You looked to the Father to request That we may join you there. He said, "no, I’m sorry my son, Their time has not come, Now let’s go and wait for them Where there is no hurt, no sorrow, No pain and no lame." Content you were with His promises That we would have our day We also would face our own battle And reach to God in great display Of humbleness and gratitude That He sent you to show us the way. You will be in my chosen committee To greet me with everlasting love When my day comes to leave this earth You will introduce, My welcoming committee above. |
