I woke up this morning, found her photograph and kissed it,
I focused on her profile and realized how much I missed it,
I imagined her beside me as I cuddled with her pillow,
Familiar scented linens brought my lonesome soul to billow.
I sauntered to the kitchen sink and wondered what she's doing,
Was first breakfast on the table or were she and Rusty walking,
On a sidewalk past a driveway, past neighbors nice or mean,
Or through the Jewish Graveyard under a canopy of green,
Did the sun shine warm upon her golden locks of mane,
Or did the dark clouds rise above to threaten her with rain,
I was dreaming for a lifetime of the simplest true pleasure,
Sharing this and that is love beyond earth's greatest measure.
