An odd poem told by a man sleeping/dreaming right before an accident that claims his life. |
-Awoken On Impact- by Keaton Foster Sleeping Peacefully Day dreaming Without question Believing I’d be seeing Another day Oh how I am mistaken The car That I am in Is speeding Out of control About to roll Down An embankment I’ll be ejected Thrown To my death Killed By blunt force Instant Will be the stop From fast To nothing No one could survive Especially I Before I dozed off I removed My seatbelt It was an attempt At getting comfortable I did not consider The ramifications Of such dereliction Before now I always believed That things like this Happened To other people And I was sure That God above Was protecting me From such things And myself How I was wrong I’m about to die Killed By my mistakes Awoken on impact I’ll see the end Just as it happens Just as my life Becomes tragic My friend The driver Will survive He’ll have to live With what his Lack of concertation Has done I can’t Really blame him But I also won’t Absolve him Of what he has done Sleeping Peacefully Day dreaming Without question Believing I’d be seeing Another day Oh how I am mistaken Awoken on impact Just in time To scream Oh heavenly father Thy God of choice What of me Is to be done In a mere moment My life will be done Brutally crushed Out of my being Sent from this world Long before I was to be done They’ll say That what has happened Is indeed tragic But what will you say In the mere moments After right now… Awoken On Impact Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
