It's a girl; it's a poem; it's a pun. Whatever. It's my first attempt at a villanelle.
Villain Elle

I cannot stand that villain, Elle
the one for whom the boys all pine;
She has them all under her spell.

Such a flirty mademoiselle -
thick chestnut hair and eyes that shine;
I cannot stand that villain, Elle.

And all the boys, their hearts do swell;
they shout aloud, “she will be mine!”
She has them all under her spell.

She sparks a thirst in them not quelled
by honeyed beer nor vats of wine;
I cannot stand that villain, Elle.

She has her fun, then says “farewell,”
though jilted, they still think her fine.
She has them all under her spell.

One by one their hearts are felled -
they’re left adrift: no soul, no spine;
I cannot stand that villain, Elle.
She has them all under her spell.
