A new beginning
It was another day in the supposed paradise
The sun was burning hot and high
But I was so low I just wanted to die
My shirt stuck to my back as I was sweating profusely
Then I heard the voice of the woman who abused me
She rushed in and hurried me out to the main house
She cleaned me up and made me wear a new blouse
She rolled in my suitcase while talking on the phone
It was mother on the other end and I was going home
The day had finally come and I had survived to an extent
I would come to know love; a concept lost on me until then
