Soaring music in concert hall
or apple cider scents in the fall,
first magical snow, watching a grand with a toy:
these give me joy.

The look on his face when he gets a deer,
and the one that I see when he holds me near.
A daughter's hug, a gurgling stream:
these make me beam.

Certain songs, karaoke night,
sitting together in setting sun's light.
My dog cuddling close, licking my nose:
these give me glows!

Finishing a book, picking it up from the printer,
magical sleigh rides in deep of winter,
Road trip with no certain destination:
these fill me with elation!

Sharpened pencils, a new notebook,
curling up with my Kindle in reading nook,
an answered prayer, a starry night:
all fill me with delight.

Family together, the whole crazy crowd,
fireplace songs when we all sing out loud,
