Abstract Poem
give me a heart of rubber—easy
to snap, to melt, to burn like butterflies

’ wings. crinkling like marshmallow
cigarettes in a cajoling ember
this is where innocence meets

reality. the sweet become ashes
and the ashes are sweet. how else
would art be known but anchors through the

eyes? these sunshine grays

remind me of myself;
unexpected light and waiting for the Set
