An attempt at writing a happy poem. It talks about happiness, life, and love.
I understand how you feel:
The ache of loneliness,
The misery involved in heartbreak,
The hopelessness mixed into everyday life.
It is completely terrible.
I wish that it would dissolve;
As if it was sugar in coffee or simple food coloring in cake mix.
Why can't the pain go away?

You have to responsibility of removing the negatives in life.
But how does that work?
Just decide one day that positivity is best?
Throughout my entire life, that never worked.
You cannot hope-away your problems.

Life can be compared to the scariest roller coaster ever invented.
Life is a mixture of incredibly high-points and devastating low-points.
Everyone is going through something.

Then, suddenly everything clicks and the puzzle is complete.
The key to happiness is not a choice. You can't just chose to be happy.
You must surround yourself with positive people.
Change is difficult; however, it is necessary.

You may attract people like you, maybe mentally sick or emotionless.
You must watch your surroundings, closely.
That happy person you see across the classroom--is depressed.
That laughing girl that sits behind you--cries herself to sleep.
That tough-guy that is always surrounded by friends--tortures himself in his mind.
Give anyone and everyone a chance.
You never know who can make an impact on your life.

I figured out the key to short-lived happiness--
Ignore the negatives,
Talk to someone,
Trust openly,
Love without regrets,
And most of all--let yourself be loved because people love you.
