Hashtag As I walked down the Street, The asphalt under my feet. The screen my fingers would greet, listening to my favorite beat. It seemed rather sweet, As my phone notified me of a tweet. Two of my friends were having a fight. In front of the world on a social media site, Each one was expressing their plight. I thought to myself, " is either one of them right?" As I opened the door and turned on some lights, My phone went off for the rest of the night. My addiction kept me glued, looking at the screen so long my eyes were screwed. Not to mention all those nudes, I was getting hungry and went out for food. On the sidewalk I bumped into some dude, He called me some names and said I was rude. I continued on finding something to eat, Went into a dive and pulled up a seat. The waitress brought me a big plate of meat, Finishing it was quite a feat. Again my cell sounded off with a beep, As I smoked from my stash to turn up the heat. I couldn't stop looking into my obsession, Stepping off the curb my body flew in one direction. It landed in the intersection, I traded my life for a few corrections. Guess I should have been paying attention, As the car sped away my spirit made its ascension. |
