Over hills and mountains we have climbed into deepest valleys descended Through it all one thing constant- Your faithful Presence by our side When in darkness we were struggling You stepped in and shone Your light When unsure which way to go You said, "Come," and all was right We could have walked this road alone unaware our Lord was there But You saw to it that we were cared for Gave us each other- an answer to prayer Faithfully You have lead us onward First alone, then side by side from footprints soft upon the sand Joining hearts and joining hands Who could have known where words would lead us A simple poem with profound truth But first a promise to each other given Lives to share- a gift from You Our greatest struggles You have turned to blessings Shown us how to share Your love Given opportunities to witness to reach Your dear ones with that love The tide comes in the tide goes out washing away that which vexed us till all we see are Your footprints falling leading us forward leading us Home ~~~~~~~~~ As you approach the 50th anniversary of that sweet proposal and life-changing walk along the sand, May you find yourselves blessed as richly as your generous ministry and beautiful poem have blessed the lives of those around you and around the world- Thank you, Paul and Margaret! |
