Broken

Like broken glass
Shattered, scattered, thrown away
Bumped, bruised, and broken too fast
They come they go, but they never stay

How funny it is
That I give into bliss
Each time and never learn
To stay away from fire so as not to burn

I'm not invincible
Not even close
My heart is troubled
Unlike those
Who sit and laugh at another's demise

I may be bitter, cold, and tart
But forever I will stand
Alone in this desert sand
Of which they call the shores of my broken heart
