Happy?

We fool ourselves so many ways
truth contrived by false memories
survival comes naturally

Soul is screaming, You are Losing ME!
malicious thoughts bombarding
status quo- no longer rewarding

Gripped by frantic feelings
pieces of me I find missing
discarded in order to keep moving

Living an existence reduced to
mindless completion of menial tasks
lucky to get a snack and some gas

Introspection now is dangerous
as self depreciation waits, crouched,
to convince me….
I am truly… Nobody….
