The Book

Papers and pictures and notes galore,
Books, cards, certificates, and more.
All saved up for that great family book,
Each tucked away in some cranny or nook.

For you see I'm going to figure out how,
To sort it in order from past until now.
The problem I have is how to begin,
Should I start with the triplets and end with the twins?

Or maybe my file should be ordered by date,
But what would make sense, early or late?
Perhaps the pictures should come first,
For you know the album's about to burst.

Of course the certificates can't wait,
For sure they should be sorted by date.
And the cards, now that's hard, what will I do?
Ignore the worst and keep just a few?

The notes, ah the notes are everywhere,
In the desk, on the table, under the chair.
It seems to me that I've put this aside,
For such a long time, because of my pride.

I don't want to say that I'm totally confused,
Admit that I really don't know what to do,
My family might say that they've just had enough,
And tell me I really have TOO MUCH STUFF.

Well I guess I do but it would be hard,
To get rid of a picture or book or card,
For then the past might disappear,
And that would be my greatest fear.
