She danced in a circle in front of the trunk that had held her mother's wedding dress for so long. Now it was her turn to wear it and she had the same excited butterflies her mother had had so many years ago.

A knock at the door was answered by her mother who opened it just a crack.

A nose poked in. "Honey, is this a bad time to mention I'm having second thoughts?"

Angela froze for a moment, then rushed to the door, pulling it open wide. Her eyes met his, only hers were beginning to fill with tears.

"What do you mean, 'second thoughts'?" She saw her future crashing around her, then strangely, she thought of the guests at the other end of the house. What would she tell them?

"You know, that custom that a groom shouldn't see his bride before the wedding. I had second thoughts about following it. You're too beautiful for me to stay away from." He gave her a quick kiss and a wink.

Irritated that she nearly started crying and smearing her makeup before the ceremony even began, she gave him a playful shove, "Get out of here before I change MY mind." She slammed the door and went to the mirror to ensure he was right or at least that she hadn't spoiled her makeup. She smiled at what a lucky woman she was to be marrying the love of her life, even if he didn't follow traditions.
